TOPIC:  Pointed Pen Snowflakes with D’Ann Zickau

Please join us as we learn a few techniques from D'Ann on making Flourished Snowflakes.  We will start with a circle template to guide our 6-pointed snowflake and then we will fill in with flourishes using a pointed pen and different inks for variety. 

If you've done these before, please bring some of your examples because, just like real snowflakes, each one is different.  It's fun to see the creativity and imagination that go into each snowflake to make it a beautiful and interesting calligraphic artwork.

Tools & Materials:

• Pointed pen, oblique or straight, with a nib you like (Nikko, Zebra, etc are good because they hold a lot of ink)
• Sumi ink 
• White ink (BleedProof White, Pro White, or a good opaque white that flows well)
• Optional: FineTec colors and loading brush(es) for several colors
• Small water pot(s) for cleaning nibs in between colors
• Paper towels
• White pencil or any pencil with lead that will erase easily
• Gel/glitter pens or pencils for embellishments and accents (optional)
• 6" or 12" ruler
• Tape
• Pre-cut paper, handouts, and circle guidesheet will be provided.
