VOLUNTEER FOR DEMO TABLE AT CAPITOL BUILDING ON 4TH OF JULY

    Idaho State Capitol

    July 4th

    11:00 - 3:00

The Idaho State Capitol is looking for 4-6 volunteers to write names on bookmarks following the America 250 4th of July Parade.  The booth will be inside the Capitol building or outside in the Cecil D. Andrus Park (our choice).

All Inkspots members are welcome to volunteer.  At least one volunteer should have demo table experience.

    Set up: 10:30- 11:30pm | Event: 11:30-3:00
    700 West Jefferson St.

Bookmarks will be supplied by either the Guild or the Treasury Office of the Capitol.   Bring your own calligraphy supplies and business cards if you have them. If we have the opportunity, we may also demonstrate the tools we use, so come prepared to share a little about your process!

As always, this is a free community event with no money transactions involved. Events like this are a wonderful way to share calligraphy with the public and let Boise know the Idaho Inkspots exist!

    Parking:
There is street parking near the Capitol, but given fact that there is a parade, it may be limited.

The Capitol would like to finalize their plans in the next three weeks.  If you are interested in participating, please respond by May 23rd.

    July 25

    11:00AM - 2:00 PM

In Hawai’i, when friends get together to trade yarns, they say that they are going to “Talk Story”.

On Saturday morning, July 25th, Dave Kuwahara and Barbara McClain are hosting a Pen Meet at the Library in Idaho City  (123 Montgomery St.) from 11:00 – 2:00.

Show up with any questions or ideas you may have for next year’s exhibit, bring along a friend who is curious about the letter arts, or just show up because there will be stories and food!

Dave and Barbara will also display calligraphic pieces from their collections for your review.

Please let Dave know if you are planning to attend, so he’ll know how much food to prepare, (kuwahara@myctl.net)
