Join us as we go through Copperplate Inspired Majuscules and learn Mollie's method of adding flourishes to create feathery bird inspired letters.

General Agenda
- World according to Mollie, not classically educated calligrapher, just enthusiastic!
- Going to teach you a Majuscule script, mix of brush/copperplate inspired letters
- Hand Out, Pen and Ductus will be provided
- Go through each letter, show alternatives
- Influences: illuminated letters, dove and feather flourishing (classic concepts)
I believe in trying all the tools
I like to setup rules and then see what following them creates
When writing copperplate, my set of rules are: up is light, down is heavy
Do not rotate the paper – unlike most flourishing
1” to ¾” tall
With remainder of class: encourage class to develop their own letter, provide magazines and other examples for inspiration
